Choosing Wedding Songs Is Not As Simple As You Think It Should Be

One of the many decisions that you will spend a great deal of time on when preparing for your wedding ceremony is which wedding songs to play. You will spend as much if not more time figuring out which music to play than you will when deciding which wedding favors to provide for your guests. You will need to choose the music for the ceremony as well as the ones for the reception. It sounds pretty simple, but wait until you have to do it.

If you are hiring a performer for either the wedding itself or the reception you will have some limitations as to what music you may pick from. Not every musician is going to master every piece of music. Think about that when you are deciding what to do for music.

If you have someone in your family or even a friend who is an excellent performer then that is one possibility. In a situation like that, you may be able to get some customized music that is very special for your big ceremony.

For most people, their wedding ceremony is the only truly black tie event they will ever organize throughout their lives. Remember that when choosing your songs. This is why couples often choose the most beautiful and elegant classical music pieces for their ceremony like Canon in D. Just about any piece of classical music that is played primarily with string instruments or a quartet is going to be absolutely beautiful. When you play music that beautiful it really sets the right mood for exchanging vows.

You might want to change the type of tunes at the receptoin. For that you may want to lighten things up a bit. One way to do this is by playing nice restaurant dinner music. The best type of music I could advise would be from Frank Sinatra or anything from The Rat Pack. That kind of music reminds people of a time when people stated to really enjoy life.

Yet another change can happen once everyone finishes with their meal. It is time to play the songs that get everyone else dancing. You need to shake things up by playing some slow dancing songs as well as a few back to back rounds of faster dancing music. You want to cover the generations too. That way you get the grandparents and older folks out there. You may be surprised to find out that they are the only people at the wedding reception who really know how to dance well. Dancing is a lost art.

If you are hiring a professional to provide the music for the wedding reception then they should already know the drill. Hire someone with plenty of experience. They will have a pretty good understanding of what kinds of music get people going at weddings.
