Historical Coaching Inns In Watford

Author: Mark T King, June 24th, 2010

Watford is a city and a district in Hertfordshire, England. It is the main provincial centre of northern counties adjacent to London and most of the western counties in Hertfordshire. Coaching inns were also called coaching houses or staging inns, and they were an imperative part of the inland transport infrastructure as an inn, helping or serving the coach travellers. Even though many of these survived, and some still render overnight accommodation services, but in a broad-spectrum they have lost their unique function and now fulfil the same purpose as ordinary pubs. Watford has many historical coaching inns but most of them have been modified.
